Combined Defence Services Exam

Combined Defence Services (CSD) Examination is usually conducted twice in a year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in the months of May and October. The examination is conducted to select direct entry candidates as officers to the following four training academies.

(i) Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun for permanent Commission in the Indian Army.
(ii) Officers Training Academy (OTA) Madras for Short-Service Commission in the Indian Army.
(iii) Naval Academy Goa, for Commission in the General Services in the Indian Navy.
(iv) Airforce Academy, Begumpet, Hyderabad for Commission in the Indian Airforce.

The selection process in which over 500 candidates are usually selected every time for all four academies, has the following three stages:

(a) Written Examination by the UPSC.
(b) Intelligence and personality test by the Service Selection Board (SSB).
(c) Medical Examination.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) – May 2010

MAT is entrance fo MBA and Allied Programmes, conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA)

Paper based Test will be held on May 2, 2010.
Computer Based Test will be held from May 8, 2010 onwards.

Last date for Online Registration: April 9, 2010.
Last date for submission of online registration print-out at AIMA, New Delhi: April 12, 2010

Eligibility: Graduates in any discipline. Final year students of Graduate courses can also apply.

Bank of Baroda Probationary Officers (PO) Recruitment 2010

Bank of Baroda (BoB) has announced vacancies for 1200 Probationary Officers (PO) in the rank of Junior Management Grade/Scale 1. The online registration link will be open on March 15, 2010 and will close on April 10, 2010.

Written Test will be held on May 30, 2010.

Eligibility criteria

Qualification (as on 01.07.2010): Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by central government. Should be computer literate (proficient in MS-office, basic applications, internet usage etc)

Candidates who are appearing for final year examination of graduation are also eligible to apply provided they produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before July  1, 2010. Candidature of such candidates whose results are declared or have mark sheet dated after July 1, 2010 would be rejected.

Age (as on 01.07.2010): Minimum 21 years; Maximum 30 years

National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (II) 22 August 2010

UPSC has announced National Defence Academy Exam (II), 2010. One day examination will be held on August 22, 2010.

Eligibility:

  • (i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
  • (ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course at Naval Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates appearing at the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination also eligible to compete subject to certain conditions.

  • Age limit: 16½ – 19 years as on July 1, 2011
  • Last date for receipt of application form: April 19, 2010.

The University Grants Commission announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 28th December, 2008 (Sunday) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges.

  • UGC will conduct Net in 77 (seventy seven) subjects (listed under item no. 9) at 66 (sixty six) selected University Centres (listed under Item no. 10) spread across the country.
